Start 2010 Ahead of the Pack

Cashflow budgeting is something that all business should do, from the smallest operator through to the biggest company. The start of a new year is the perfect time to sit down and prepare a budget for the next 12 months.

Budgeting allows you a monthly check on the performance of the business – it will demonstrate immediately if expected income is down or more importantly, if expenses and costs are too high and eating into your profits.

A good time to review the performance of your business is each time the BAS reporting is due, either monthly or quarterly. It is no good thinking the income is looking after things is the costs associated with running the business have crept up.

Don’t wait for a surprise from the accountant or your bank manager who calls to tell you that your available funds have dried up, take steps to address problem areas in your business as and when they arise. You can find a cashflow budget on our website and if you need assistance in completing this, talk to one of our finance managers who will be happy to help.
