New finance broker association

A new finance broker association is about to launch itself in Australia.

The Australian Institute of Professional Brokers

(AIPB) was launched at a function in Melbourne recently. Whilst still in its early stages, the AIPB has received enormous encouragement from all segments of the broking industry, from Residential Home Loan broker, Commercial Finance brokers and Consumer Finance brokers.

We are pleased to advise that John Ryan, director of Transport Finance has taken up the position of Deputy Vice President on the founding board of the Australian Institute of Professional Brokers.

The aim of the association is to lift the public profile of finance brokers in Australia and to listen to the members, find out the issues that affect finance brokers in this environment and take a stand to fix what needs to be fixed to ensure that the role of the broker on the financial landscape is properly understood and valued.

The AIPB will also be looking to work closely with the Banks and Finance Companies in Australia to ensure that they fully comprehend the value proposition that finance brokers bring to their business and understand the need for lenders to acknowledge brokers as business partners and essential to their need to grow and manage their loan books.

This will be achieved through setting standards that finance brokers are expected to meet and by providing ongoing education and training for the AIPB members to ensure that they are fully proficient in the their particular areas of expertise.
